The Mt. Rainier Chapter, WSPE serves the Tacoma region of Washington
including the Southern portion of King and the Northern portion of Pierce
Counties. The chapter holds monthly dinner meetings on the Third Thursday of
each month (September through June) beginning with a social period at 6:00 PM
and dinner at 6:30 PM. The venue is generally at Coco's in Federal Way, WA.
Each year, the Mt. Rainier Chapter sponsors a local MATHCOUNTS competition for
6th through 8th grade students in participating schools in the chapter’s area.
Successful competitors attend the Washington State MATHCOUNTS competition where
the winners move on to the National competition.
The Mt. Rainier Chapter also sponsors a "mini-fair" during Engineers' Week at
the Auburn Super Mall. The chapter also has an active scholarship promotion.
